What Has Happened At Home?

Posted at 6:01 pm under Business

We all feel much more at ease when we can purchase a used car that comes with an accurate and well-kept service record file. We know that if a person was careful enough to keep these records of every tune-up and repair they must have taken good care of their car. This makes us feel safe that the car was well maintained and reliable, so in turn worth the money we are spending on it.

Wouldn’t the same idea for maintenance records of a home also be an advantage for the person selling their home? I should think this would make their house stand out positively from many others on the market. If a potential buyer is able to have all of the facts and details about certain types of upgrades and changes to the home, they are better able to discern the value of your home. What a grand idea; a service record for a home.

You could sell logbooks that have the spaces required for certain types of upgrades and changes to the home, so the homeowners can enter every detail. This is much better than a folder or file with bunches of receipts collected over many years for all the repairs and upgrades of the home. Not that these aren’t a good idea to keep, because often there are warrantees that come with the changes as long as you retain the receipts. Nevertheless, it can be overwhelming to go through all of these receipts and papers. Why not put everything in a logbook that is organized and easy to reference. Then if you need a receipt, you can search for the proper one from an enclosed envelope or pocket included with the homes logbook.

You could sell these logbooks for about $10 each. You will need desktop publishing software to create the logbooks and a good printer to print them. By doing this yourself, you are assured of a good profit from each logbook that you sell. Be creative in your designing of the book. Make sure that you include more than enough pages and spaces required for certain types of upgrades and changes to the home, so the homeowners can enter every detail.

You could sell these special logbooks to real estate agents, home seekers, homebuyers, hardware stores, etc. Let the real estate agents put their advertising on the front page for an extra fee. This way the owners will have the old information about their real estate agent and easily be able to contact them again when they decide to resell their home. What a good sales idea for the real estate agent, it will also make it easier for the agent to sell the home again. This is a good investment in the agent’s future sales.

The best way to sell these logbooks will be up to you. It will be a good idea to print up a few, so that you can use them to show to agents that might be interested in your idea. Offering these logbooks online could be a very good idea too and offer to sell the logbooks to bookstores also. What a unique new ‘business idea’, don’t you agree this idea is worth giving some serious thought too?
